The most common events in Karamoja are the annual Karamoja cultural event which takes place around 3th-8th of september, initiation rites commonly known as "nyathapan", marriage events which include "nyebole" and "nyekuutan".

In 2025, the karamoja cultural event was conducted at nakapiripirit. In 2026, it will be held at Moroto at a venue not yet disclosed. The event attracts alot of karimojong from within the region, outside the region and from other parts of the world. The event also tends to attract other ugandans and tourists from several parts of the world.
