Karamoja's Situation.
Karamoja is currently facing a hunger emergency that deserves immediate attention. It started last month when some residents were reported to be dead as a result of hunger which resulted from the long spells of drought that started in march of 2026. The drought caused many crops to dry up. Reports were made to the government through the local leaders especially the Local area MPs.
Karamoja's appeal.
Karamoja is welcoming all kinds of assistances from civil society organizations, faith-based organizations, and all able persons to intervene in this situation.
Food aid to Karamoja.
Karamoja was so grateful to the Government of Uganda, Institutions, religious organizations, individuals, companies who helped with food aid during the hunger emergency in Karamoja sub-region. These include Walu street children ministries, Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC), Pastor Robert Kayanja Ministries, Gulu Ecclesiastical Province, Karatunga Tours, 91.2 ECKO FM, Church of Uganda, Victory Outreach Church-Lira and those that may have not been included.
The Government has so far responded immediately through the prime ministers's office. Individuals and Organisations are also responding as well.
